Negotiation Skills Focus of Chamber October Breakfast

September 5, 2017

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., September 6, 2017 – Co-Founder of the Global Negotiation Initiative at Harvard University and Program Director of Bay Path University’s Master of Science in Leadership and Negotiation will keynote at the Springfield Regional Chamber’s October Business@Breakfast on October 4, 2017 from 7:15 – 9 a.m. at Crestview Country Club, 281 Shoemaker Lane, Agawam with a focus on “The Negotiator In You.”  The breakfast is sponsored by series sponsor, United Personnel Services.

Each one of us negotiates every single day of our lives -- at work, with loved ones, and in other personal interactions. Whether you're buying a TV, deciding on a vacation spot, getting your children to do their homework, or asking for a raise, Dr. Weiss says that negotiating skills are continually put to the test. This breakfast will show attendees how to negotiate with confidence and calm for successful results.

In addition to his work at both Harvard and Bay Path, Dr. Weiss is the founder of Negotiation Works, Inc., consulting for a number of Fortune 500 companies, the United Nations, and the U.S. Government. He delivers negotiation and mediation training and courses, and is tasked with negotiation and mediation at the organizational, corporate, government, and international levels.

A strong advocate of cutting-edge developments in his field, Dr. Weiss implements contemporary technology to examine and deliver new approaches to negotiation and mediation. In addition to extensive teaching in-person and online, he is a world-renowned author of the audiobook, The Negotiator in You, as well as the podcast Negotiation Tip of the Week—one of the top 100 iTunes Business podcasts for three years.

Dr. Weiss received his PhD in 2002 from the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University.

At the breakfast, the Chamber will recognize Anthony Hayes as the new general manager for WGBY and Tim Kennedy as the new president of MassLive Media.

Business@Breakfast is a monthly series which pays tribute to individuals, businesses and organizations for major contributions to civic and economic growth and for actions which reflect honor on the region.
